take this thing from my chest that hurts so with every beat tying knots of pain reminding me of all that I’ve lost I can’t take another moment suspended in this quagmire of quilt and same all I hear is a pounding beneath my breast a tattoo of the things i have done the air is thick with expectation for what may come and all that has passed throat closed in panic skin cold and clammy waiting for the next axe to fall take this thing from my chest that allows me to feel such pain that leaves me weak and useless take this thing from my chest that enables you to hurt me so to make me feel less than a person to ball up and cry till I’m sick rip open my breast and take it I never need to feel this again such loneliness, betrayal and shame And I did it all to myself so take it and give to another It's no longer need it to feel replace it with something more stable with weight so I’ll never forget and something with reason and logic So I’ll never feel this again Never
